Michael Cusacks football team made a perfect start to the
2003 season when they wiped out all the disappointments
of 2002 by winning the annual Central Coast Tournament.
The boys in red ousted Penrith Gaels in the final with a
scintillating performance. Right from the start it was championship
football at its best with no side prepared to give an inch.
Both sides traded points in a low scoring first half but
Cusacks got into top gear in the second half scoring three
great goals.
The
final scoreline of 3-4 to 0-5 was greeted by great applause
from the red contingent of Cusack supporters and it was
great to have a victory on the day. Ably captained by Cork
man Brian Daly and with a large number of subs they were
very worthy of their victory. Credit is due to trainer Darren
Kierse and manager, Micheal Cunningham for their help and
to the large squad of players who made the journey up the
coast
