2005 HURLING LEAGUE FINAL REPORT
Unfortunately
Michael Cusacks hurling team could not overcome the Central
Coast in the NSW League hurling at Auburn on Sunday 19 June.
This
was the final game of the day and it proved highly entertaining
with a courageous Cusacks team losing out to a very skillful
Central Coast outfit. Despite playing against the breeze
in the first half Cusacks were full of running and played
some good hurling to leave the half time score at Central
Coast 1-7 to Cusacks 0-5.
Wind
assisted in the second half the boys in red tried hard but
just couldn't get the all-important goal. Full time score
was Central Coast 2-11 to Cusacks 0-14. The team was captained
by goalkeeper Mickey Mulcahy and center half back Colm Moriarty
had a very good game as had Tadgh O'Callaghan at mid-field
and their chief scorer in the forwards John Quinlan. The
team was coached by Nelius Murphy and despite the loss he
is hopeful that they can go one better and win the NSW Championship
in September.
