The finals of the Gaelic Football Summer Competition at Wentworth Park took place on Sunday February 26th. Michael Cusacks had two ladies teams and one mens team in the competition. First up was Michael Cusacks Ladies 1 who had a great win over Irish Australians in their play off. Marie Keating got 2 great goals and Aine McElroy was also prominent for the victors. Verona O'Driscoll did some great running as Cusacks ran out winners by 6-5 to 3-4.

Next up was the ladies grand final between Michael Cusacks 2 and Clan na Gael 1. This was a hard fought game with very little between both teams. Cusacks had the edge up to the final moments but unfortunately lost by 3-4 to 1-7. Ruth Cahalan was brilliant in goals and she was ably assisted by Rosin Cooper in defence. Daveena Doyle and Carol Collins did great work in midfield and Deirdre Fitzpatrick tried hard for the girls in red. Cusacks Ladies are trained by Niall Hayes and the teams will be looking forward to their combined forces going one better up the coast on March 26th.

Unfortunately our guys team did not fare so well and lost to Irish Rovers in their mens play off .
